| Intramural Sports & Activities at UMC
Overview
UMC's Intramural Sports program wants to encourage the entire student body to participate in organized intramural sports activities. These programs provide for the use of facilities for such activities, organize and promote competition between groups and individuals, enhance physical fitness through competitive activities, and foster a spirit of fair play and sportsmanship among participants and spectators. UMC's Intramural Sports program offers team sports and special events. In doing so, UMC also provides leadership opportunities for individuals desiring to be volunteers or part-time staff for positions such as officials, and supervisors.
Volunteers - Get Involved!
Volunteers hold a wide variety of positions and responsibilities within Intramural Sports. Those who assist with decision-making serve on the Intramural Sports Council. This council, composed of interested individuals who are either appointed by staff or elected by participants or sportreps, is an important link between staff and participants. The council endeavors to provide staff with feedback and evaluations concerning programs, facilities, and personnel. They also make recommendations and/or decisions for changes in specific sports as well as in the overall intramural sports programming area.
