Matt Korte (6-1, 175, So, RHP, St. Cloud, Minn.) has been named Pitcher of the Week by the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).
Korte threw a complete game, shut-out victory as the Golden Eagles defeated Valley City State University 5-0 in their season opener on Monday at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome. He scattered four hits while striking out seven to get his first collegiate victory.
Korte is majoring in accounting at the University of Minnesota, Crookston. He is the son of Joe Korte of St. Cloud, Minn.
