Alexis Khoshaba (Richmond, British Columbia) Signs National Letter of Intent with Golden Eagle Softball

(Crookston, Minn.)- University of Minnesota, Crookston Head Women's Softball Coach Mitch Bakken announced today the signing of Alexis Khoshaba from Richmond, British Columbia to a National Letter of Intent to play for the Golden Eagles during the 2012-13 season.
 
Khoshaba is a 5-8, third baseman and outfielder from Hugh Boyd Secondary. She was named her high school's athlete of the year in 2008 and 2010. Her club softball team took second place in 2008 and sixth place in 2010 at the National Championships. She earned the top batting average at the 2010 National Championships with a .550 average. She tallied a 1.000 slugging percentage and a .640 on-base percentage at the championships. Her team took second at the British Columbia Summer Games, and following the 2011 season, Khoshaba was recognized as a Top 16 player in British Columbia.
 
“Alexis is a very good softball player. She has athletic ability, size and power that will all be assets to the Golden Eagle Softball program,” says Coach Bakken. “She will be a great compliment to the power and speed that will that will make up this program next year.”
 
Khoshaba plans to major in sport & recreation management at the University of Minnesota, Crookston. She is the daughter of Laurel Defoe and Angelo Khoshaba.
