Kaylin Beatty (Andover, Minn.) Signs National Letter of Intent with Golden Eagle Softball

(Crookston, Minn.)- University of Minnesota, Crookston Head Women's Softball Coach Mitch Bakken announced today the signing of Kaylin Beatty from Andover, Minn. to a National Letter of Intent to play for the Golden Eagles during the 2012-13 season.

Beatty is a 5-2, utility player from Andover High School in the Northwest Suburban Conference. She was awarded the Gold Glove Award following her freshman season and was named the JV MVP following her sophomore year. Beatty closed out her junior campaign batting .365 for Andover High.

“Kaylin has taken a majority of her high school reps on the infield. However, with her speed and the number of recruits and returners we have next season, she will be looked at to take reps at several different positions in the infield and outfield to try and earn a starting spot,” says coach Bakken. “She is an outstanding student in the classroom and I think she will learn the college game very quickly,” Bakken adds.

Beatty plans to major in equine science (pre-veterinary medicine) at the University of Minnesota, Crookston. She is the daughter of Colleen and Shawn Beatty.
