CROOKSTON, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Crookston soccer and softball teams have announced the addition of Elizabeth Fox to their staffs as assistant coach. Fox, a former soccer and softball player at Newbury College in Brookline, Mass., will serve as assistant coach for both programs.

Joe Alianiello. "It will be great for the team to have another voice around on a consistent, daily basis. She has already meshed well with our players and current coaching staff."

Don Stopa. "As a true utility player in college, her versatility will bring a lot to the table."
Fox, a native of Orono, Maine, was a successful two-sport athlete at the NCAA Division III level. She was a second baseman and catcher on the diamond and was a goalkeeper for the Newbury soccer team. On the diamond, she started 33 of 34 games as a senior with a .279 batting average, 30 runs scored and eight RBI. On the pitch, Fox is Newbury's all-time leader in wins as a goalkeeper. She also tied for the program record with two shutouts. She helped guide the Nighthawks to the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) to the post-season tournament two years in a row. As a senior, she had a 2.18 goals against average with 173 saves and a .828 saves percentage. As an athlete, she was the Newbury College Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2015. In addition, she was a three-time Newbury College Student-Athlete Academic Achievement Award winner. Fox was also a six-time New England Collegiate Conference Academic All-Conference pick and a two-time NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete.
Fox earned her Bachelor of Arts in public relations and advertising with a minor in psychology from Newbury College in 2016. She graduated Summa Cum Laude and was a member of Lamba Pi Eta, Tau Xi Chapter of the National Communication Association Honors Society and Alpha Chi National College Honor Society.
In addition, she has volunteered as a head counselor at Beaver Summer Camp, as a communications intern at Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island, as a substitute teacher in the Orono School District and as a recreation employee at Orono Parks and Recreation.
Fox is residing in Crookston.
