Athletic programs at the collegiate level are finding it more difficult each year to generate revenue to cover the rising costs of operation. Since the fall of 1994, UMC has been competing athletically with four-year colleges who have well established athletic and athletic scholarship programs. UMC is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II and an member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference ( NSIC ) since July 1, 1999.  UMC's Hockey Team began play in the Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association (MCHA) with the 1999 season.   If UMC's athletic programs are to continue to excel and be competitive, they will do so through financial contributions from individuals and organizations in the private sector. You, as a UMC TEAMBACKER , will be a key member of the UMC athletic team.

Your membership in the Teambackers Club will help support athletic scholarships for the almost 300 men and women who make up 11 sports here at UMC.

Teambackers also get involved by volunteering their time and talents to Teambacker committees and activities.
